Friction - A Secret Tool for Successful Habits

How I think about friction as a property of my habits.

Friction is a force that affects our ability to do things.

If you want to add good habits, reduce friction that makes those habits hard to do.

If you want to remove bad habits, create friction that makes those habits less easy to do.

Do you spend to much money online? Delete your saved credit cards and keep your wallet or purse far out of reach.

Do you spend to much time surfing social media? Delete your apps and only log on through an Incognito window for 10 minutes, then close the window. Better yet, use a tool like Apple Screentime Settings

Friction is a powerful force to helping us shape the way we live our lives. If it's used to intentionally design habits, it becomes a leverage point to become the person you want to be.
